Gosh people. -.- You know what? CNY shopping is a chore seriously especially when you need to squeeze with the crowd to buy the stuff you want. Unlike Zenn, my family doesnt really like to go to Chinatown to get stuff together cos we will usually get squished and squashed until we lose one another. Totally abhor the feeling so might as well pass this. haha. Other places also sell nice stuff too. :)
This morning, our family went to the supermarket to get ingredients to prepare the Hakka delights for the reunion dinner. Our family values traditional Hakka reunion more than steamboat cos I remb we only got to do that twice. This time round, it will be the same but my momma will be the chef again. My late grandma managed to pass the recipe and cooking skills to my Momma. haha. I think great Mothers will know how to cook their family food. What's very significant about our family's Hakka food is that there is this dish that is full of Oysters with home-made rice wine and many many Chinese mushrooms with meat toppings on it that takes like at least one week to prepare so that the taste will be infused into the sauce. That's how leceh it is.
But come to think of it, we are all still of Chinese origin. What's important is that we value our traditional roots and join in the festivities so as to make the most out your time in this world.
Oh and I got some clothes already like finally. And for more food and goodies shopping tmr!
P.S. Anyway, I feel like eating Peranakan food man (babi ponteh, nyonya curry, 9-layers kueh etc). Cravings!
